Bellevue 5th 28 Clyde 0
The Bellevue Redmen fifth grade rolled over Clyde 28-0 to finish their season 7-0 and NOL champions. Maurice Barnhouse caught a short bubble screen from quarterback Daniel Thatcher and turned it into a 76 yard touchdown. Thatcher would later find the end zone on a six yard quarterback keeper for a 12-0 lead and again later on when he danced to paydirt with Logan Turner's kick splitting the uprights for a 20-0 advantage at halftime. Joshua Lunsford took advantage of his only carry and raced untouched for a score from 55 yards out. Turner's kick was again good to finish out the scoring. Thatcher finished the day two of two passing for 81 yards and rushed four times for 56 yards and two scores. Barnhouse led the receivers with 76 yards and Jared Hoy snagged one for five yards. Kyle Geary ripped off a 43 yard run. Gabe Smythe picked up 42 yards on 10 carries and Tyler Henderson added seven yards on a pair of carries. Barnhouse led the defense with seven tackles (five solo). Seth Linder and Chase Gore each added six stops and Smythe had five. Henderson, Turner, Hoy and Lunsford had 3 tackles each. Bellevue 6th 23 Clyde 6
The Bellevue sixth grade capped off a perfect season with a victory over the Clyde Fliers as it was raining points for the Redmen Wednesday evening. The team finished 7-0 and NOL Champions. Clay Fries got the Redmen on the board first with a 36 yard touchdown reception from quarterback Dylan Dewitt and Jake Strayer nailed the extra point for a 8-0 lead. Dewitt would scamper 67 yards on a quarterback read for the second score, with Strayer's kick again good for a 16-0 lead. Clyde would bounce back with a 61 yard touchdown run off of a counter making it 16-6 early in the second half. In an all out deluge, Cole Norman would find the endzone from 3 yards out, on a play out of Boise State's playbook. Quarterback Thomas Pressler would fake a strong throwing motion and wrap the ball behind his back to an opportunistic Norman for the score.
