GAME RECAP:
10/6/06 - Bellevue, OH - The Redmen came up on the short end Friday night as their long time rival the Shelby Whippets invaded BAF stadium. Emily Mays and her court looked on hoping for her classmates to pull out the victory but too many things were not in favor of the Redmen team. After The Whippets took the lead 14-13 with 5:59 remaining in the first half two untimely officiating mistakes cost the Redmen a first down and potential drive with a phantom holding call and Eric Lepley's apparent first down catch on the sidelines was ruled out of bounds. To the dismay of the Bellevue coaches and fans the Redmen were forced to punt. The Whippets blocked the punt and recovered on the Redmen 14-yardline. Bellevue was able to hold on defense but the Whippets lead grew on a Brant Aldous 27-yard field goal with :09 remaining in the half. The Redmen was unable to recover and fell 31-21 on home coming night. The Whippets pushed the all-time series lead to 32-29-2 verse the Redmen and remains in first place with Tiffin for the league title. Bellevue travels to face the Willard Flashes next Friday as the Whippets host the Upper Sandusky Rams.
