GAME RECAP:
9/1/06 - Bellevue, OH - Ashland stifles Bellevue's passing game to hold on 31-14. Derrick Berberick ran for 200 plus yards for the second game in a row but it was not nearly enough to defeat the strong Ashland team. Berberick ran for 251 yards on 29 carries and scored once on the evening. Arrows fullback Dan Icenhour rumbled for 139 yards on 22 carries, while Junior quarterback Taylor Housewright added 143 yards through the air for Ashland. Missed opportunities was the downfall of the Redmen tonight while turning the ball over on downs three times once from the 1-yardline. Bellevue plays hosts to the Clyde Fliers in the Route 20 battle next Friday night while Ashland plays their third Northern Ohio League school in as many weeks when they host the Whippets of Shelby.
