GAME RECAP:
8/25/06 - Bellevue, OH - Senior co-captain Derrick Berberick gained 395 all-purpose yards to open Bellevue's season defeating the Margaretta Polar Bears 46-7. Berberick had touchdown runs of 73 and 63 yards and added many electrifying plays on the night. Jeff Deblase unofficailly went 10/19 for 124 yards, 1 touchdown pass and one touchdown on the ground. The Redmen Defense was at its best this evening holding the Bears starting offense to under 100 total yards. The Bellevue reserves who saw action gave up nearly 100 yards in the fourth quarter of play but kept the Polar Bears out of the endzone. Bellevue now hosts the Ashland Arrows next Friday on Hall of Fame night in Bellevue. The Arrows are also coming into this game 1-0 after trouncing Willard 44-6.
Congrats Redmen on the opening night win.
* For those outside of Bellevue that may have not heard, the Redmen was picked #1 in the preseason media poll followed by Fostoria, Tiffin, Shelby, Willard, Upper, Norwalk and Galion. Bellevue was also selected preseason #7 in the State in Division 3 by ONN and JJhuddle.com.
This years game reports will likely be less detailed than those of previous seasons. Due to the lack of writers and pulling some overtime at work on Saturdays makes it almost impossible to have them get to lengthy. Hopefully everyone understands and enjoys the new look this season.
