500th win mark obtainable in 2003

August 14th 2003
By XBellevueplayar

With 497 victories dating back to 1897 the Bellevue Redmen look to become just one of about 29 school's in the state of Ohio that can say they have 500 All-Time victories. The Redmen look to obtain that memorable victory this season while being mentioned in the same breath as Massillon Washington (746), Steubenville (724), Canton Mckinley (723), St.Ignatius (557), Sandusky (614) and new Northern Ohio League foe Fostoria (730). Others besides those I've mentioned are Bellaire (575), Troy (573), Martins Ferry (561), Ironton (558), Cincinnati Wyoming 554), Hunting Valley University School 522), Lakewood (509), East Cleveland Shaw 508), Mogadore (500) and Louisville (500). Shelby also has over 560 wins but the ohsaa website had not acknowledged it on their website as well as Fremont who has about 565 wins but is not reconized either. Something else to point out is that when the Redmen reach that milestone victory Head coach Ed Nasonti a 1977 Bellevue Graduate will reach the 110 victory mark. Redmen fans should feel proud and eager for for the upcoming season as it looks to be a memorable one.

I'd like to send a special thanks out to Bill Oddo ( The writer of The history of Bellevue Redmen Football, 100 years) who checked and double checked his numbers to come up with 497 wins.

*Don't miss out........Be there!!!

  Go Big Red............!
